30 DAY FREE TRIAL Please read all this page before starting trial The Dentist Channel is not available to the public but is available to dentists and those in the dentist industry. In order to get your Free Trial please first make sure you have: Broadband Internet Connection Windows 2000 or Windows XP operatings system However first let us tell you how the free trail works. When you click on the link below you will download a large zip file called dentistinst.zip (a zip file needs to be unzipped using something like WinZip. If you have never unzipped a file before - a free version of WinZip is available from Winzip.com. The file you will download is 262MB so its time to go and do something else. If for any reason the dialogue box does not open to ask you where you want to download the file to, then right click on the link and "save target as" to a temporary directory. The usual time to download is approximately 2 hours depending upon connection speed. If you already have a zip utility the file should automatically unzip and open the install screen. If the install screen does not open then click the file to start the install (file name: DCH-mini-setup.exe) We advise you to install in the proposed default directory and follow the instructions on the install pages. The Dentist Channel install creates a new directory on your computer called LandLibSys - the directory that holds the Landscape Library Systems files where The Dentist Channel files are located. The Channel uses a library that is too big to download all in one go, as each file is large by normal Windows standards, in order to provide large resolution. If we sent you all the files at once it would use up all your monthly bandwidth from your service provider. In order to work the library is therefore provided in its most simple form at first download and then every day for thirty days we send another large file to add to your local library. This is done at night out of office hours and so your computer should remain connected to the Internet. A daily schedule plays out the programming in a totally automatic way for you to use as and when you want. By the time you get to 30 days of use you will start to see how The Dentist Channel works. Should you agree at that time to subscribe to the service your library will be operating at the minimum recommended size. The process of subscribing will continue to build your library over a number of months and will be completely automatic. New videos are delivered and deleted as required to maintain a service that is highly attractive to your customer. It is recommended that if used as in-chair entertainment true stereo audio is provided to the patient via headphones for maximum appreciation value. 1) Once you have downloaded the file and unzipped and installed it then CHECK YOUR VIDEO is set properly FIRST. You can test your video display setup using the link from the start/programs/LandLibsys menu option that says "setup and test". 2) Lastly you must remember that in order for the free trial to work properly you need to authorise Windows Firewall to allow out of hours update. To check this is working you can after installation go to the c:\LandlibSys\LandLibSys directory and double click the test-it.bat file. If operating correctly a file will be returned to that directoty called its-working.txt.
